Bidirectional DC Power Supplies are Ideal for battery cycling, electric drive testing & capacitor/battery emulation as they combine a DC Power Supply and a DC Electronic Load.
Operating in two quadrants, power supply (source) and an electronic load (sink) with energy recovery.
Bidirectional Power Supplies available from Telonic feature Grid Tied Technology, traditionally energy captured in sink mode is lost in heat but now can be feed back in to the grid using grid tied technology saving energy costs.
