While a Flash tester looks for a total collapse of insulation, these meters measure the actual quality of that insulation in Ohms. By applying a known DC voltage, they detect tiny leakage currents that indicate if insulation is degrading due to heat, moisture, or age, helping to predict potential failures before they become dangerous.
