EMC test equipment to evaluate the resistibility of electronic equipment when energy charged on a human body or object is discharged to the electronic equipment.

ESD Simulators (Electrostatic Discharge Simulators), often referred to as ESD Guns, are specialised electronic test instruments used primarily in Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) testing.

Their core function is to:

  • Generate a controlled, high-voltage current pulse that accurately replicates the characteristics of a real-world static electricity event (like the shock from a person or machine).
  • Apply this repeatable pulse directly to an Electronic Device Under Test (EUT).

This process is essential to determine a product’s immunity and robustness against electrostatic discharge. By simulating these “zaps” under controlled conditions, engineers can confirm that the equipment will not malfunction, suffer data loss, or experience permanent component damage when exposed to static electricity in its operational environment.
