MICROTEST 8761NAK-512P 512-Pin 4-Wire Cable & Harness Tester, 700 V AC / 1 kV DC

The MICROTEST 8761NAK-512P is a 512-pin 4-wire cable and wire harness tester with continuity measurement from 1 mΩ to 52 Ω. Separate current and voltage-sense connections reduce the effect of fixture lead resistance when checking low-resistance conductors and contacts. It combines AC Hipot testing up to 700 V with DC Hipot testing up to 1 kV, insulation resistance covering 0.1 MΩ–1.2 GΩ, open/short testing, intermittent-fault detection and resistor, capacitor and diode checks. The 512-point K configuration provides additional connection capacity in a 435 × 270 × 360 mm enclosure. A separate low-resistance scanning function covers 10 mΩ to 52 Ω at 10 mA. Storage for up to 500 test files and RS-232, USB Host, printer and remote interfaces support repeat production work.

Identify open and short circuits

Apply DC Hipot and insulation resistance tests across the series. NA models add AC testing up to 700 V; FA models reach 1 kV AC and 1.5 kV DC. N models provide DC testing only.

Check dielectric strength and insulation

Measure resistors, capacitors and diodes incorporated into cable assemblies. Component ranges include resistance from 50 mΩ to 20 MΩ and capacitance from 10 pF to 12 µF.

Test components within the assembly

RS-232, USB Host, printer and remote interfaces support a production test station. Optional PC Link, networking and remote-control accessories can be selected for the installation.
