Rigol DP800 User Guide

David Waine (verified owner) –
I’ve only owned this PSU for a couple of weeks and I have to confess to only using a tiny fraction of its features. It’s great; quick to boot, quiet and easy to use. Although I took a look at the manual, I actually got more from using YouTube videos to learn about the device and in addition I Google specific questions I might have; for example the first serious issue for me was how to restore a previous configuration which is really easy once you know how. I find the keypad easy to use and I actually quite like the circle of buttons for numeric entry (a few users don’t for some reason). I bought the version of this device without the LAN port enabled which will be a shame in the future, but I will have to be content with USB as the additional price for this feature could not be justified. In terms of its core function, the unit performs exactly as I need; simple setting of output voltage and current limit… On a ‘scope, there is no real noise detectable… It’s so much better than my previous PSU that I’m glad I made the upgrade on that point alone. The display is good, clear and (so far!) trustworthy. I’d recommend this PSU to anyone with fairly typical needs; it also does a lot that I’ve not used yet so that’s something to look forward to.
