Siglent brings its A-game with a trio of performance T&M Instruments

Posted on: May 26th, 2022 by Doug Lovell

Telonic extends its instrumentation range with three instruments from Siglent Technologies’ A-Line family: the SNA5000A vector network analyser (VNA), the SDS6000A oscilloscope and the SDG7000A arbitrary function generator.Siglent brings its A-game with a trio of performance T&M Instruments

Siglent’s first two- or four-port vector network analyser, the SNA5000A, meets the demand for high-performance measurement in radio and cellular networks and is ideal for the measurement of passive or active components, verification of two-port networks or adaptation of antennas.

The SNA5000A is offered as a two- or four-port device with frequency ranges from 9 kHz to 4.5 GHz or 8.5 GHz. It supports two- / four-port S-parameters and differential S-parameter measurements. Time domain analyses can be performed with the Time Domain Analysis option – SNA5000-TDA or Advanced Time Domain Analysis (the SNA5000-TDR).

The versatile VNA allows users to choose one-port, extended one-port, full two-port correction and SOLT (Short-Open-Load-Thru), SOLR (Short-Open-Load-Reciprocal) or TRL (Thru-Reflect-Load) techniques. There are five types of sweep: linear and logarithmic frequency sweeps, output power sweeps, time domain sweeps and segmented sweeps.

The SNA5000A includes a formula editor and mask test and has a large 12-inch touchscreen.

SDS6000A-Oscilloscope,-White-Background

The SDS6000A oscilloscope is available in 500 MHz, 1 GHz and 2 GHz bandwidths. A low noise input stage and high sampling rate ensures signal integrity in bandwidth measurements. It also offers 5 GS/s per channel and ESR (Enhanced Sample Rate) for equivalent sample rates up to 10 GS/s per channel. It is engineered to precisely capture even the smallest signals on the vertical range (500 µVdiv) with input stage performance of SFDR > 45 dBc, channel-to-channel isolation up to 70 dB and DC amplifier accuracy +/- 1.5%.

The SDS6000A oscilloscope features eye diagrams and jitter analysis and an acquisition memory up to 500 Mpts over one, two or four channels. The waveform capture rate can reach up to 750,000 waveforms / s in sequence mode.

Other features are digital and zone triggers, history function, mask test, Bode plot and a I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, LIN as standard. The SDS6000A can optionally be expanded by 16 digital channels and an external function generator (25 MHz). Additional serial bus decoders (CAN-FD, FlexRay, MIL1553, I2S, SENT, Manchester) are also available.

In addition to a large 12-inch touchscreen, mouse or keyboard input options, an external monitor can be connected via HDMI and an optional micro SD card expands the space available for recorded data.

The most recent addition to the A-Line series is the SDG7000A two-channel arbitrary function generator. Offered in 350 MHz, 500 MHz and 1 GHz bandwidths, it features two independent channels which can be combined via menu control to simulate interference on the main signal or to generate complex modulated signals.

Ideally suited to developing embedded electronics systems, the SDG7000A arbitrary function generator has sine, square, triangle, and pulse waveforms as standard. Other standard features include Pseudorandom Bit Sequence (PRBS) and 512 MPt memory for creating custom signals.

Siglent’s TrueArb technology guarantees waveform fidelity at up to 2.5 GS/s sample rate with minimal jitter. User-defined signals can be generated with Siglent EasyWave software or directly on the device display. It is also possible to import arbitrary curves from text or CSV files. In sequence mode, users can sequence up-to 1024 waveform segments for more complex waveform creation.

The maximum output voltage is up to 12 Vpp into a 50Ω external load and when sourcing signals into a high-impedance environment, up to 24 Vpp is possible. Outputs can be configured as single-ended or differential. The choice of FM, AM, PM modulation and optional digital IQ modulation allows baseband I and Q signals as well as HF-modulated signals up to 1 GHz and 500 MS/s to be generated. Up to 16 digital signals can be sourced via TTL or LVDS bus modules with data rates up to 1 Gbps.

The SDG7000A Series is equipped with a 5-inch touch display.
All of Siglent’s new performance line of instruments included a web control interface that provides remote instrument control without additional software.
