The Tekbox TBDCA1 is a low-output-impedance, DC-coupled power amplifier designed to extend the voltage, current and power capability of an arbitrary waveform generator. It delivers up to 150 W continuous output power, with a 3 dB bandwidth from DC to 3 MHz and usable operation up to 10 MHz. A maximum 56 Vpp output, 10 A RMS continuous current capability and switchable gain from 0 dB to 40 dB make it suitable for driving demanding low-impedance loads and reproducing fast automotive and EMC test waveforms.

The TBDCA1 supports AC- or DC-coupled operation and selectable 50 ohm or high-impedance input termination. Its adjustable +/-25 V DC offset allows it to act as a voltage-controlled power source in suitable low-voltage applications, while dedicated voltage and current monitor outputs simplify measurement at the load. Adjustable current limiting and front-panel status indication help protect both the amplifier and the connected test setup.

With a 3 dB bandwidth from DC to 3 MHz and usable operation up to 10 MHz, the TBDCA1 combines true DC response with the bandwidth needed for fast edges and higher-frequency content. It delivers at least 3 MHz bandwidth across its supported load range, while reduced output power can enable linear operation to 10 MHz and beyond.

The amplifier is designed for demanding loads, delivering 150 W at 2 ohms or below, 80 W at 4 ohms and 30 W at 12 ohms. It supports 10 A RMS continuously and up to 20 A RMS for 30 seconds, with an adjustable current limit for controlled test setups.

Dedicated BNC monitor outputs provide scaled representations of output voltage and current. The voltage monitor offers a 1:20 ratio into 50 ohms or 1:10 into a high-impedance input; the inverted current monitor provides 0.1 V/A into 50 ohms or 0.2 V/A into High Z. This makes it easier to validate the waveform and load response without adding a separate current sensor to every setup.

Paired with a suitable arbitrary waveform generator, the TBDCA1 can scale low-level programmed waveforms into realistic automotive supply profiles. Tekbox's application example uses a Siglent SDG6000X, 20 dB amplifier gain and the voltage monitor output to reproduce and verify an ISO 16750-2 cranking waveform across the EUT supply line.
