JBC CD-2BE has been Discontinued. Please see the new and improved CD-2BF here.The JBC CD-2BE is an ideal Soldering Station for general purpose electronic applications, supplied with a T245 Soldering Iron and 2 Tip Cartridges 1 x C245-903 and 1 x C245-741.
The CD-2BE provides the best soldering quality thanks to JBC's Efficient Soldering System whilst incorporating Sleep & Hibernation modes to help extend the life of the tips. Cartridge extractor facilitates fast and safe cartridge change of different tip geometries. More than 150 cartridges of the C245 range of different geometries are available. As with all the Compact Stations, the CD-2BE has a menu with more than 10 parameters to customise the control unit. Features:

This unit is solidly built and a pleasure to use. What surprised me was the speed at which it heats up. When the iron is in its cradle, the temperature drops to some preset level (which you can easily adjust). Remove it and the temperature goes up to operating level in a few seconds. This must greatly extend the life of the tips. What also surprised me was the ability of such a small tip to heat relatively large items with effort – terminals etc.
You can very easily adjust the operating temperature from 200 to 400C.
By far the best soldering iron I have owned, over decades of electronic work. Highly recommend!

The JBC soldering station is one of the those products that just oozes quality as soon as you remove it form the box. The fit and finish are first class, assembly is very straightforward and ease of use is just as simple.
The JBC kit is akin to Snap On tools, top notch quality, designed specifically for the job in hand with an ergonomic feel and touch.
In my 25 years of experience in electronic engineering have never produced such superb soldered joints before prefect solder flow and wetting, almost instantaneous tip heating. The idle mode for tip preservation is also welcome and the iron itself is a joy to use, especially if you have large hands like me. It enables you to perform soldering in tight hard to get to places with little fuss or surrounding encroachment.
The various associated tips are just so easy to change and use, even those stubborn SOIC 8 and 16 packages just float off the board now!
